We believe in a God who is the only True God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Almighty, the Creator and our Redeemer. He is eternal and holy, just and good, compassionate and merciful. He is the reason the church exists and we can do nothing without Him. Gen. 1:1, 1 Cor. 10:31, Rom. 11:33. Ps. 24:1
Therefore:
•We value the Bible: For it is God’s authoritative and inerrant Word. In it he tells us about Himself, gives us His precious promises, teaches us how to live and unfolds the plan of salvation. 2 Tim. 3:16, Ps. 119:105, 1 Jn. 1:4, Matt. 4:4, 2 Tim. 1:13, Jn. 17:17, Heb. 4:12
•We value Prayer: For in Prayer we have immediate and intimate access to God. In prayer we can pour out our hearts and lay out our requests. In prayer we can seek guidance and find wisdom. In prayer we can confess to Him and find cleansing, we can praise Him and find strength, we can cast our cares upon Him and find peace. Ps. 62:8, Phil. 4:6, 1 Ptr. 5:7
•We value The Lost: For Jesus came to seek and to save the lost and he had compassion on the crowds because they were like sheep without a shepherd. God does not want anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance and he has given us the ministry of reconciliation. Therefore, we eagerly seek to bring the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ to those living in the darkness of sin. Matt. 9:36, Lk. 19:10, 2 Ptr. 3:9, 2 Cor. 5:14-21, Eph. 2:1-2
•We value Families: For the family has been instituted by God and it is the basic building block of society. Families, whether traditional or single parent, are meant to be places that mirror God’s love and be places where children are nurtured, loved and trained. Through families, God pours out grace to all people and blunts the hardness of sin in the world. A society cannot sustain itself without strong families. Matt. 7:9-11, Eph. 5:25, Gen. 1:24, Deut. 6:7, Ps. 103:13
•We value Fellowship: For as believers, we are all a part of the body of Christ, and each of us makes a unique contribution to the whole. We cannot find fulfillment on our own, but only as part of the community of believers through service, fellowship, worship – keeping unity through the bonds of love. Heb. 10:24-25, John 17:23, Rom. 15:5, 1 Cor. 10:24, 12:7, 14:22, Col. 3:14
•We value Justice and Righteousness. For God is righteous and He loves justice and He expects us to care for the poor, to encourage the oppressed and to defend the helpless. Ps. 11:7, 106:3, Prov. 21:15, 29:7, Is. 1:17, Matt. 23:23, Ez. 22:30
•We value the Specific Vision God has given to us for our church: God has given us a vision for what our church can be and the difference it can make in our community. We cherish this vision for it helps to guide us in our decisions and it encourages and motivates us. With a clear vision we can work together for clearly defined common goals. With a clear vision we are galvanized for service and challenged to grow. Prov. 16:3, 19:21, Ps. 20:4, 33:11
