Who We Are

New Life is first and foremost a community of believers in Jesus Christ who seek to grow in the knowledge and love for our God. We do this best in the midst of loving and caring relationships with one another as we worship, pray and meet in small groups at church or in our homes.

New Life an evangelical free church, began 50 plus years ago as the area was changing from an airport to the West Shore community it has become, neighborhoods filled with homes and schools. It began with the help of another Evangelical Free Church that was located in New Haven. Actually, New Life is a part of a larger denomination of some 1400 plus churches and works in every state in the US. We are affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) and with other Evangelical Free Churches in many countries around the world from our friends to the North all the way to India and Australia. What sets us apart from other denominations is not only our history but our distinctives of majoring on those key issues of faith and minoring on those areas that the Bible speaks little about. In that way we have a solid faith based on the authority of the Bible but spend little time arguing about less important issues. Ephesians 3:16-19

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
